Pre-Alignment – what is it?

In a perfect world you just walk up to the machine and measure its alignment conditions with the tool you have, and then make the necessary adjustments and – voila! Your done.

Unfortunately the world isn’t always that perfect. But to make the alignment process as trouble-free and quick as possible there are severeal things you can check and correct before the actual measurement and adjustment of the machine. Pre-Alignment checks are the shaft alignment medication that reduces frustration and saves time in the long run!

Before you start any work on the machine there are a some safety precautions that is required to address.

Make sure that the machine is electrically and mechanically locked. You don’t want the machine to start running, either from someone accidentally turning on the power, or that a valve is opened somewhere forcing the pump to start spinning.
